English may be the language of global business, but everything changes when corporate goals require the provision of e-learning materials in alternate languages. The most forgotten secret of successful multilingual training and development is the need for a global language translation strategy. Are you training diverse audiences, such as non-English or second-language learners; expanding your corporate reach into new countries; providing e-learning resources in more than one language; experiencing delays and inconsistencies; and/or receiving complaints regarding previously translated training materials? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, this session is for you. Discover the foundational components of a successful global language translation strategy and will arm you with specific action items pertinent to your organization's learning objectives surrounding e-learning. Building upon their published whitepaper on the same subject, the speakers will share practical steps for implementation based on industry best practices and client success stories.
Your organization has invested in enough high-tech and no-tech learning assets to fill a catalog. You understand the math. It's all about 70-20-10 and you want to do more with technology to drive all three. How do you select and leverage the right assets, not only to save time and money, but also drive better learning outcomes and performance? It's not enough to just assemble the right parts and pieces, you want to gain support and sustain it as well. During this session, the speaker will help you identify the right blend of technologies to bring formal and informal learning together. You'll learn how to create a visual snapshot of a high-tech, high-touch development program and receive a template to present your program in a compelling way. You will leave with ideas, insights, and tools to use with social media, mobile support, games, and simulations to sustain learning, so your organization gets the most out of its training dollars, and your learners get what they want. You will understand how you can use high-tech to assess gaps in high-touch skills and learn new approaches to design personalized development programs to address those gaps. Determine how technology can help you gain buy-in and commitment from key stakeholders to achieve measurable results. Basic knowledge of 70-20-10 or formal and informal learning components will maximize the dialogue and learning in this session.
Sustaining a career in training requires a strategic partnership with the business that produces measurable business results. So how do you become a strategic business partner? In this thought-provoking session, an industry leader in training evaluation will outline what to do before, during, and after training to produce and document organizational results. He will provide tactics and tools for earning the trust of stakeholders and expanding your influence beyond the classroom. Training leaders will come away from this informative session armed with the information they need to become strategic business partners with their stakeholders. All training professionals will gain an understanding of the role training must play to remain viable in any organization.
This session will teach you how to build a committed and high performing team where everyone ultimately becomes a leader. You will discover the integration of new and time-tested approaches to team development that will result in a dynamic and energetic team which will deliver outstanding results. You will learn how to apply these strategies, tools, and techniques in you organization and hear about examples of other organizations that have successfully applied them. Discover new possibilities for the way work can be performed. Work doesn't have to be drudgery; it can be exciting, stimulating, and fulfilling. Knowledge of basic management skills and an interest in team development is needed to attend.
Getting outside your normal working and thinking mode is critical to creating elegant, meaningful solutions for your organization. Learn how to frame innovation so that your team can experience a whole new paradigm for thinking, based on the skills of improvisation, which leads to more creative, flexible, and adaptive work. We not only examine creativity—we apply it to real situations so that the information is useful rather than theoretical. You'll learn how improvisers can be so creative in risky, stressful situations. We will examine how creative and innovative people and organizations interact, how they manage risk, and the most effective ways to implement creativity in a culture. You will engage in improvisational exercises, small-group discussions, and intense challenges.
Do you, or your employees, work outside a traditional office? That might mean working from home on occasional mornings or being completely based at your local coffee shop. Perhaps you supervise sales staff in a large geographic area or are responsible for a team of global technology professionals. Mobile workforces are a growing and permanent trend and management strategies need to keep pace. In this session we will discuss the building blocks of managing your remote workforce. These foundational tools will help prepare you to lead, not just manage, your team. You will learn to: Align job descriptions with virtual positions, learn the top five words to include when building a job description for a remote employee, and manage meetings in the Cloud. You will be given a meeting template, which you will personalize, for use in facilitating remote meetings, delegate and monitor project progress, and evaluate your remote employee's performance. Use our simple form to help evaluate project performance and support your annual appraisal.
Personalized leadership development holds great potential to drastically change the learning experience. It taps participant engagement, promotes ownership, and builds independence and confidence, while maximizing the leader's learning potential based on their individual needs, abilities, and preferences. Today, learners have access to diverse content and are making their personal preferences known regarding what is included in their training and the format in which they receive that content. They want to focus on learning that is unique to their current situation taking into account where they are in their careers and in their lives. At the same time, we need to ensure that they are achieving their behavior development goals. In this interactive session, you will learn the five practices for harnessing the power of personalized leadership development: personalized content, personalized insight, personalized practice, personalized performance support, and personalized learning environment. Additionally, you will network with peers to share personalization successes and tips for incorporating the new mixes of face-to-face, social, electronic, virtual, and on-demand learning.
