PresidentS Message May 1951

On this, my first occasion to address you as your president, I feel somewhat like an eldest son on whom suddenly and unexpectedly have fallen the duties and responsibilities of the head of the family. It is a sober-ing feeling, and one that mixes humility with pride, and inadequacy with obligation.
