Program Overview

Program Overview

SMEs play a critical role in the success of your learning opportunities. Despite their expert knowledge, SMEs often end up in a training role because they’re experts in their fields. Most of the time, they have very little, if any, experience in designing effective learning opportunities. By providing proper training and support, you can ensure those who learn from your SMEs get what they need from the learning experience.

The key to successfully working with your SMEs is the quality of the relationship you build with them. In this program you’ll discover what it takes to build and maintain those relationships, and transform them into solid partnerships in which you’ll collaborate to create the most effective learning opportunities possible.

In this program you’ll learn:

  • techniques for helping SMEs understand their roles as learning leaders and the value of collaborative learning
  • proven methods for teaching SMEs the core structure of adult learning and how to create and facilitate learner-centric programs
  • why SMEs whose only contribution is their expert knowledge also need to be familiar with the precepts of effective learning
  • key elements to include in an ongoing SME development program
  • methods of coaching and feedback to support SMEs’ continuous improvement.
What to Expect
  • Technical Requirements: This program is conducted in the WebEx Training Center. Special software is not required. You only need a standard web browser and telephone or VoIP capability to participate. In addition, it is strongly recommended to use a desktop or laptop computer as using a tablet or phone severely limits your ability to fully and actively participate in the program.
