Program Overview

Program Overview

Career development programs are an essential part of any talent development strategy. However, ensuring that your programs are effectively utilizing managers, supervisors, frontline employees, and technology can be a daunting task. It’s easy to get hung up examining the various tools available, raising the question, “Who takes the lead—the supervisor or the employee?” and deciding how to build the case for this program and not lose momentum for other initiatives.

In this three-part interactive course, participants will be introduced to and practice applying the key actions and outputs related to the Career Development Ecosystem Model. Through in-class activities, attendees will build skills around increasing manager engagement for career development; creating, maintaining, and using metrics; and establishing a sustainable organizational culture for career development.

Why You Should Attend:

  • Learn the major components of a business case for career development.
  • Contrast career development responsibilities between managers and employees.
  • Evaluate technologies that can be used with career development programs.
  • Connect your career development program with other talent development initiatives.
  • Evaluate your career development program and prepare it for sustainability.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Format: During this online workshop, you will collaborate in real time with your facilitator and classmates through interactive group discussions, polls, chats, and whiteboard design sessions.
  • Supplemental Resources: This workshop includes electronic tools and templates to help you apply what you learned.
  • Technical Requirements: Each session of the workshop is conducted in the WebEx Training Center platform with a toll-free teleconference or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) option for the audio component. Special software is not required. You only need a standard web browser and telephone or VoIP capability to participate.         In addition, it is strongly recommended to use a desktop or laptop computer as using a tablet or phone severely limits your ability to fully and actively participate in the program.
