Jane Bozarth, EdD, holds an M.Ed. in training and development/technology in training and a doctorate in training and development, both from North Carolina State University. Her master’s thesis was revised and published as eLearning Solutions on a Shoestring (Pfeiffer, 2005); her doctorate focused on social learning within a community of practice. Bozarth has published several other books, including From Analysis to Evaluation and Social Media for Trainers, and was the principal writer/designer for the Challenge Continues leadership training workshop package. She is also the author of Learning Solutions magazine’s popular monthly “Nuts & Bolts” column. In addition, Bozarth is a working practitioner and in her 20-year career has evolved from classroom trainer to instructional designer to e-learning coordinator for the North Carolina state government. Her newest book, Show Your Work: The Payoffs and How-Tos of Working Out Loud, will be co-published by John Wiley & Sons and ASTD Press in May 2014. There is a Show Your Work Pinterest Board available now.

Essentials of Adult Learning
Today’s learners and workplace learning environment are vastly different than they were in the last century, when Adult Learning Theory became a science unto itself. How do we accommodate the adult learner’s need to work collaboratively when we have globally dispersed workforces? How do we allow for observation and reflection when our training time is cut from four-hours to two-hours? How do we teach critical thinking skills to learners who are used to getting their information in 140 characters? In this series, you’ll get answers to today’s burning questions as well as a thorough grounding in the adult learning principles that underlies the work we do with adult learners in the workplace.
Essentials of Podcasts, Video, and Writing for the Web
Today’s learning professionals must be able to produce quality multimedia content for learning, do it fast, and do it affordably. This program introduces trainers to how they can leverage audio, video, and online text both in the classroom and via new platforms to make learning more accessible, flexible, and learner-centered. It covers what engaging media content looks like, the equipment you need to produce it, and tips to make it fast and affordably. It explains when and when not to use multimedia, and how to ensure learning occurs.
Essentials of Brain-Based Learning
If you could understand what was happening in the brains of your target audience, would you be a more effective trainer, designer, consultant, or leader? Thanks to recent advances in neuroscience, learning and talent development professionals now have an opportunity to alter their approaches to change management, leadership development, training, and instructional design. Learn how the brain receives, encodes, and retrieves information to construct knowledge, and use these insights to improve your learning programs.
