The ATD One to Watch program recognizes rising stars in the talent development profession. These young leaders are dedicated, forward-thinkers who are passionate about applying effective and creative solutions to challenges facing their organizations—and our industry.

Do you or someone you know meet the following criteria?

  • Born in 1981 or later
  • Working in the learning and talent development field
  • Making a unique contribution to the profession
  • Is giving back to the community?

 

If chosen as our One to Watch, each young leader will receive:

Ones to Watch

In her role as a research associate for the University of Oklahoma's Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies, Megan Taylor works with the National Weather Service Training Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She performs research that aids project leads in training development. Taylor also writes and develops online training courses, supports curriculum development, and facilitates residence training.

In her role at Alliance Data, Michele Williams redeveloped and expanded the new hire onboarding program and she coaches recent college graduates through the Initial Career Experience program. Aspects of the onboarding initiative continue to be adopted throughout the organization.

Mark Macellaro manages Talent Acquisition and Talent Development at Lassonde Pappas and Company. He singlehandedly built their employee development program, JUICED (Judgment, Utlilzation, Insight, Communication, Execution, Development), and the Hi-pot development program, Juiced-Up. Outside of his job description, he also does instructional design at the organization. He enjoys volunteering with students and veterans as a mentor and career coach to those outside and inside the talent development field.

Emily Isensee is a Relationship Manager at Brave Leaders, where she provides courage-building programs for leaders at every level. She helps organizations integrate Brave Leaders's programs into their talent development strategy to develop braver leaders and more courageous cultures.

Danielle Buscher

Danielle Buscher is a department of one at West Community Credit Union. She designs and delivers training for the entire credit union, manages the learning management system, works with subject matter experts, and evaluates training effectiveness. That’s in addition to running a volunteer professional development group for employees who want to develop outside of the opportunities they have based on their job title.

Angelica Sogor

 

Angelica Sogor designs, develops, and manages maritime training curriculum for two cross-country campuses at MITAGS-PMI. She ensures that their courses are in compliance with industry guidelines. In addition to curriculum development and management, she has a leadership role in the organization's new professional development initiative.

Emily Dennis

Emily Dennis researches, designs, delivers, aqnd evaluates trainings for all employees, including faculty and staff, at West Virginia University. She is a lead trainer and coordinates the Mountaineer Leadership Academy. In May 2016, she will complete her Ph.D. in Instructional Management and Leadership. Emily is also a member of her local ATD West Virginia Chapter.
