Irene Nielsen
ABOUT ME
Irene Nielsen may be a quintessential lifelong learner and entrepreneur, demonstrating resiliency and humor in positive aging.  Nielsen’s first advanced degree was a Master’s in Maternal Newborn Nursing and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) , followed by a role as Associate Professor and Clinical Outpatient Director at University of Minnesota. Then a need to find the business side of human caring she practiced as a financial planner for 16 years with advanced (CLU and ChFC) designations.  Intervening interests and entrepreneurial forays led Nielsen into art, hospitality, and national seminar ventures.  Recently she returned to her passion to educate and motivate students and clients towards a holistic, health and wellness vision.  Nielsen is presently completing her dissertation for a PsyD from the University of the Rockies.  Her research is on Creativity and Resilience:  Characteristics of positive aging.  She teaches psychology part time at a four-year college and is Senior Consultant for Plato’s Edge Consulting.  ( More at [email protected] .)
