ASTD Archive Image of the Day: Right Brain, Left Brain, Circa 1981

These images appeared in a Ned Herrmann article in the October 1981 issue of Training and Development Journal that examined the creative brain. The understanding of left-brain, right-brain dominance is critical in applying the new knowledge of the brain function, and that plays a huge part in how people learn. When instructional designers begin to think about developing a new learning initiative, they must understand the brain dominance characteristics and how they influence learning.
