Boeing’s Lisa Downs Joins ASTD Board of Directors

The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) announces that Lisa Downs, CPLP, Strategic Business Partner in Learning, Training, and Development at the Boeing Company, has joined the Society’s Board of Directors for a two-year term, 2013-2014.

Ms. Downs, who holds the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP®) credential, supports Boeing’s Engineering group for the Boeing Commercial Airplanes division. Prior to her role at Boeing, Ms. Downs was a Training Consultant with PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company in Seattle, WA where she led the leadership development and new employee onboarding programs. Before working at PEMCO, she served as a Leadership Development Manager with T-Mobile USA where she conducted and developed leadership and professional development training.

Highly involved in the ASTD chapter community, Ms. Downs is the chair person for ASTD’s National Advisors for Chapters through 2014. She was the 2008 President for the ASTD Puget Sound Chapter, the 2010 Chair of the ASTD Chapter Recognition Committee, and a member of the ASTD National Advisors for Chapters committee from 2010-2012. Ms. Downs is the author of three books in the ASTD Trainer’s WorkShop series: Listening Skills Training, Time Management Training, and Negotiation Skills Training.
