Organizations substantially increased spending on learning and
development, according to the findings of ASTDs 2011 State of the
Industry Report. Organizations in the United States spent $171.5
billion on employee learning in 2010, up from $125.8 billion in

(From The Miami Herald) -- Despite the fact that women now make up
half the workforce, they still are no further toward achieving top
ranks at the nation’s big businesses than they were
last year, or even six years ago, according to the 2011 Catalyst
ASTD changed its name to ATD to meet the growing needs of a dynamic, global profession.
