HowTo.gov Highlights Online Community of Best Practices for Digital Government

HowTo.gov is the destination for federal agencies to share what they’re doing to create a more citizen-centric digital government and make government information available anytime, anywhere, on any device. Managed by GSA, HowTo.gov brings together best practices, strategies, and examples of how agencies are collaborating to improve digital services delivered via the web, mobile, social media, and new technologies such as APIs.  What drives HowTo.gov is the dynamic community of practitioners across government that create and share timely content. A great example of this was when the AP’s Twitter account was hacked last week and a group of federal social media managers quickly published a blog post on Howto.gov with tips to help agencies protect their Twitter (and other social media) accounts.

HowTo.gov also has a treasure trove of webinar trainings on its On-Demand page, so people can learn more about how to use social media and other digital technologies. Supporting broad communities of practice helps the federal government, as a whole, produce digital information that the public can more easily find, share and use.
