Karl Kapp is kicking off a 10+ blog-stop virtual book tour for his newest release, The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook: Theory into Practice.

The goal of this fieldbook is to provide a practical, hands-on approach to creating games, gamification and simulations for learning. While the first book covered a good deal of the concepts, ideas, and approaches related to gamification of learning, this new addition presents case studies, provides worksheets, and offers actionable information needed to take theory and turn it into practice.

Karl has done several book tours in the past, but he wanted to keep this one a bit smaller—to be more intimate and to enable it to grow organically. It has already expanded, though, adding dates and people jumping on to participate. That’s the exciting part of virtual tours.

As a co-publisher of The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook, ASTD is excited to take part and encourages everyone to join in. Leave a comment on this blog post linking to your own blog, so it can "officially" become part of the tour. We want to expand the tour with your input and ideas related to gamification.  Some other ways to take part include:

  • Twitter hashtag: #gamiLI
  • Pinterest page: http://www.pinterest.com/kkapp01/gamification-happenings/
  • Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/gamificationLI (stop by and give it a LIKE).

And the tour is just in time for the holidays—and the book would make a great gift! It’s available at the ATD Store.
Here are the first few tour stop dates, check back here for more dates and locations—and to add your own blog to the list.
