When instructional designers write workshops for groups, most of the time we rely on our knowledge of individual learning styles and psychology. Although these areas are obviously relevant and helpful, in and of themselves they are limited. Workshop designers also need to use what they know about group dynamics and psychology as they relate to real-time events.
