Imagine running a marathon with no pre-race training, course map, encouragement, indication of where you are heading, or where the finish line is located. Are you feeling excited about this race or anxious?

Now think about the race for knowledge or development. Should we be putting our learners in a similar situation as part of an educational event, without an indication of where they're headed?
