Finding the Exit: How People Leave Government Jobs

With the Trump administration's focus on downsizing the bureaucratic workforce, it may be useful to know how many feds leave the civil service each year. Luckily, that information is readily available: The Office of Personnel Management's FedScope database tracks how many people have left government jobs annually since fiscal year 2005, and it even provides information on the nature of their departures. The database's most recent iteration of the data covers FY 2011 to FY 2016.
