Survey Says Training Is Crucial for Cyber Security

Thursday, February 12, 2015

When it comes to cyber security, most chief information officers (CIOs) believe employee training is the best way to keep networks safe. According to a recent survey by IT staffing firm Robert Half Technology, CIOs think that untrained internal workers are the biggest security threat they face. If the proper resources were available, more than half of the 2,400 CIOs surveyed responded that they would boost training on security issues, making it a priority for all employees. Second on the list of priorities was enhancing the vetting of firms with access to company data. Next was to hire additional IT security personnel, and then to implement multifactor authentication processes. Respondents also believed that contracting with third-party security vendors or adding additional security tools would be beneficial.
