Training in India Hits Its Stride

Sunday, February 1, 2015

Indian companies are projected to spend $1.5 billion on employee engagement this year, but recruiting and retaining top performers is becoming increasingly difficult as the talent pool grows. For expanding companies in India, retention, managing attrition, and engaging a versatile workforce are serious challenges. In order to succeed, organizations are looking to training and development initiatives, but the way these initiatives are selected is evolving. Traditionally, talent managers used a "pick-and-choose" method, selecting different modules from various vendors, but the "one-stop-shop" style, in which vendors can train across all workforce levels on a variety of hard and soft skills, is becoming more popular in India. Recent studies have shown that about 54 percent of the Indian workforce is not fully engaged. Traditionally, HR departments attempted to boost these numbers in varied, often unsuccessful ways, but now the trend of using compete engagement solutions has begun to take root.
