Tools to Reduce Turnover

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Most smart companies are aware that employee turnover is a tremendous problem. It is costly, affects productivity negatively, and can have a domino effect, reducing the morale of the entire team. Smarter companies look for proactive ways to reduce turnover in their organizations. But what are some on-the-ground, day-to-day ways companies can reduce turnover rates? Instituting a job applicant assessment is one way. From background checks to competency screenings, there are a host of valuable assessment tools available to hiring managers to help separate the right candidates from the wrong at the start. And career training is another valuable tool. On-the-job training is important, but when training is provided by management, it demonstrates the company’s commitment to the employee’s success. This not only makes an employee more valuable as a worker, but it also instills a sense of loyalty. Predictive HR management software can also be an important tool for HR managers. Management software streamlines the recruiting and onboarding process, and provides a better experience overall for the new hire. The better the applicant experience, the more likely the company is to attract today’s top talent.
