Webinars Are Important Training and Onboarding Tools

Friday, April 21, 2017

Although they are often overlooked, webinars can be a useful tool in onboarding and training new employees. According to a study released by Wainhouse Research, 70 percent of trainers believe webinars are just as effective, if not more so, as self-paced training, and 57 percent said they are a valuable tool in training new employees. Although webinars are conducted virtually, if planned and set up correctly, they can be as engaging as face-to-face training sessions. Additionally, webinars greatly reduce costs by virtually eliminating overhead. This can be particularly helpful if employees work remotely, or if training is required for employees across a wide geographic area. It’s also easier to keep track of who attended a webinar session, how long they stayed, and who left. These tools can also be helpful in defining a company’s culture and values, particularly for new employee training. The entire webinar can be branded, and the process is streamlined, allowing the brand and mission to take center stage.
