Best Talent Development Advice?

Be involved in as many talent development activities and initiatives as possible to round out your skills and experience. Broaden your skills as much as you can, even if that means sometimes learning and performing in areas that are not your preference. If possible, gain experience in various industries. Learn and get comfortable in various ways to provide learning. Be a continual curious learner yourself. The more experience and the broader your experience, the better you’ll be able to meet the needs of the organization you work for. Network with others in the field to learn and grow. Have fun.

Most Valuable Thing You’ve Gained or Experienced During Your Membership with ATD?

I believe the combination of involvement with the local chapter and attending the ATD International Conference &EXPO has provided such great value. To learn and network together with other talent development professionals all over the world is incredible. To have other people to reach out to that will share and support you with various initiatives and to be able to support others. The many resources of ATD are so important as well.

Thank you for sharing your experiences Amy Dinning.
I can relate to your thoughts ... "The more experience and the broader your experience, the better you’ll be able to meet the needs of the organization you work for. Network with others in the field to learn and grow. Have fun." The ATD-CHI chapter provides this regularly.
