Congratulations to the July Chapter of the Month, Austin. The Austin Chapter developed a plan to encourage engagement in Employee Learning Week (ELW) activities early by using its November meeting as a lead-in to ELW. During ELW, the chapter offered two partner supplier webcasts, received a public commendation by the mayor to provide community connection and visibility, and celebrated with a banquet for members. As part of this banquet, the chapter presented its Leader in Learning Award. The project team for this event met every two weeks from September through December, and those who attended seven of eight planning meetings received a discounted volunteer rate for the banquet. Each sub-team for the project consisted of two people. Because of its well-organized effort, the chapter gained 16 new members, 79 new contacts, and ratings of very good or excellent on its post-event surveys for the banquet and each of the two webcasts.
