The 2019 Chapter Excellence Awards were presented Sunday to ATD chapters for excelling in joint membership growth, strategic partnerships, and advancing the profession through Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP™). The awards come with a $1,000 prize.
The Houston Chapter earned the Excellence in Joint Membership Growth award for being the large chapter (defined as having 350 or more members) with the greatest net increase in joint members from 2017 to 2018. The Austin Chapter was the medium (100-349 members) chapter honored in this category. The Greater Richmond Chapter was the small (less than 100 members) chapter honored in this category.
The Excellence in Strategic Partnership Award was presented to the Greater Richmond Chapter (small chapter) and the Central New York Chapter (medium chapter) for making a significant impact on local businesses and communities.
The Excellence in Advancing the Profession Through CPLP Award was presented to the Rocky Mountain Chapter for significantly fostering talent development in its community and for professionalizing the industry through promoting the CPLP.
The Power Membership Award winners were also recognized. The rewards program recognizes the top three Chapter Affiliation Requirements (CARE) achieved chapters in each size category with the highest percentage of joint chapter-ATD membership: Big Sky, Southwest Florida, Cuyahoga Valley for small; Eastern Pennsylvania, Detroit, Austin for medium; Metro DC, Houston, Chicagoland for large. The winning chapters received a cash prize and a complimentary program registration.
The awards were presented as part of Chapter Leader Day, an event where chapter leaders meet, share ideas, and learn about resources for effectively running an ATD chapter. Want to learn how to get involved in your local chapter? Visit www.td.org/chapterlocator to find the chapter closest to you.
