Notice something different among your fellow conference attendees? Certified Professional in Learning and Performance- and Associate Professional in Talent Development-certified attendees are sporting lapel pins that are emblematic of the new digital badges that indicate their successful completion of the certification and its rigor and acquired knowledge and skills.
A digital badge is a unique encrypted image that is linked to data about an individual and her accomplishments. Digital badge holders can add the badge to their email signature and share it on social to highlight their accomplishments. They can also embed the badge in their resume through an individualized URL. Further, their contacts, such as those on LinkedIn, will be able to see their credentials. ATD will use the Acclaim platform for its digital badging program.
All current CPLPs or APTDs will likely have received their badges, beginning in early May. Moving forward with the June 2019 class, new credential earners will receive their badges at the same time as their certificate.
During ATD 2019, certified individuals can visit ATD Central (in Grand Foyer Salons A/B of the convention center) to receive their lapel pins and to learn more about how to make the most of their digital badge. They can also visit with staff from ATD’s Competencies and Credentialing Department at ATD Central.
