Conference Daily interviews Jeslyn Miller, management program analyst at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Meet your fellow attendees as the Conference Daily interviews learning industry professionals at ATD24. In this fourth article in the series, we interview Jeslyn Miller, management program analyst at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
On her role: I’m under one of NOAA’s line offices, the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service. I work for the workforce engagement branch. It’s very siloed. I do designs for training communications. I also design and facilitate training and a lot of workforce engagement.
On how long she’s been in the field: I started as a contractor at NOAA back in 2019. Then, I became a federal employee in 2020.
On why she’s attending her first ATD International Conference & EXPO: My supervisor was saying, “You’re going to do a conference; you choose which one.” We’ve worked with ATD before, as far as their webinars and things like that. And when I saw the location \[of ATD24\], I said, “This one!”
On the ATD24 experience: A lot of good sessions, a lot of good information. I love to read, so I was very happy to come down \[to the ATD Store\] and get some books. It’s a lot of useful resources that we can take back.
On what she’s looking forward to: I’m going to a lot of sessions about instructional design and making sure that it’s accessible. There’s one session in particular I’m interested in, because we’re implementing a program in organizational stay conversations.
