ATD23 News has conducted impromptu interviews with ATD23 attendees in San Diego. In this installment, hear from Hong-Ren Yang, a manager at E Ink Corporation.

On his role: My role is actually to plan and deliver L&D solutions for our US employees and the global branches.

On learning about ATD23: I’m an ATD member, and this is on my wishlist to do in my life. Actually, this is my first time to visit the US. And so I’m very excited being here and seeing so many professionals and the scholars, and it’s so much to digest.

On being in the US for the first time: Actually, I work and \[live\] in Taiwan. My company has an office in Boston, so on this visit, I spent one week in Boston. And then I’ve come here \[to San Diego\] for another week.

On Boston: It’s a lovely city. And there’s a lot of history and stories and delicious food there \[laughs\].

On his overall experience: I think if I could, I would like to go over all the sessions. Luckily, they still offer some virtual sessions. But I’m thinking that, if I could, I would invite my team members to come. But unfortunately, this time, it’s just me alone coming here. And luckily, I think everyone here is friendly. So, it’s easy to talk and share ideas. I’m pretty appreciative of this opportunity.

On what he’s looking forward to during the conference: One of my major interested areas is talent management and, of course, the technology, especially AI. It can help with the delivery here because AI has kind of a lot of impact on every space in our life. I’m looking forward to this and more in this conference.
