Collaborating with SMEs

The greater your knowledge of your SME, the more successful your collaboration will be. It is important to consider the role of your SMEs: who they are, how they work, and how best to approach them.

How do we begin to improve the relationships with SMEs? One key is to keep the “big picture” of shared goals in mind. Both instructional designers and SMEs desire many of the same goals, but differ on how best to accomplish them.
