Communication is an important part of professional development, but few people actively work on it. Effective public speakers command attention and get results, whereas not-so-effective communication creates disengaged audiences and muddles meaning. When presenting, avoid restating facts that are already in a slide deck. Visuals are great for illuminating a point, but you should be adding value rather than repeating what’s already on display.
