When it comes to landing the perfect position, soft skills are becoming more important. According to LinkedIn’s 2019 Global Talent Trends Report, 92 percent of recruiters agreed that soft skills are just as important—if not more important—as hard skills in making hiring decisions. And what soft skills are the most important? There are a handful of skills that are consistently at the top of most hiring managers’ checklists. First is the ability to learn. In a rapidly changing world, the ability to learn new information and adapt to changing methods is crucial, and your ability to do so demonstrates to employers that you’re a person who will not get frustrated easily. Similarly, problem-solving is an important skill for many recruiters, as it demonstrates your ability to analyze a problem and find novel solutions. This speaks to your creativity and your ability to act proactively. Another important skill is the ability to work as part of a team. No one person is an island, and organizational success is not an individual exercise.
