No matter how experienced you are, you can always learn something new. That's why organizations with active management training programs tend to be more successful than their counterparts where leaders remain stagnant. There are myriad reasons for this, but one of the primary ones is that management training enables stronger company cultures, and helps disseminate the right skills and information down to the people who need it most. Effectiveness is driven by people knowing what they should be doing (i.e., through training on knowledge and skills) and by managers coaching them to make the best use of the process and tools and have the right mindset or attitude," Mark Savinson, of Strategy to Revenue, says. "Training is the start, doing is the completion." Managerial training also helps transmute esoteric values and strategies into meaningful results. Simply put, leadership owns the strategy, and management is responsible for transforming those strategies into action. Their training and development is crucial to this process, and ultimately to the success of the organization.
