The article focuses on the campaign of business enterprises for an improved school performance in the U.S. The move is part of the observation of businesses about the failure of the country's educational system to adequately prepare students for the workforce. Recently, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Center for American Progress have released a report entitled "Leaders and Laggards," which grades states in a number of categories that include academic achievement, post-secondary and workforce readiness and return-on-investment. Moreover, other trade organizations have called for major changes to the educational system.
