This article focuses on plans of companies Intel Inc., Wayport Inc. and McDonald Corp. to enable San Francisco, California-area locations with Wi-Fi in earnest as of September 1, 2003. A select group of New York locations were set up with Wi-Fi on a trial basis but Bay rollout will be more comprehensive with some 75 locations being wired for 8O2.11b technology.
