In his 24 years at Merck, Jim Phelan has held an amazing range of responsibilities, from supervising 180 technical professionals supporting all PC users throughout the enterprise to developing and implementing critical training programs for pharmaceutical sales to managing critical quality assurance initiatives. He has drawn on that vast collection of business experiences to meet his latest corporate assignment: the development and implementation of Managing@Merck, a comprehensive blended learning program designed for new and current managers across the Merck enterprise. Managing@Merck has received rave reviews from attendees and executive management. Twenty-one programs were launched last year and approximately 700 managers have either completed or are currently enrolled in the program today. All program materials are being translated for global rollout.
