The article focuses on the practice of learning management systems (LMS) by government agencies in the U.S. in order to organize and administer their programs effectively. The LMS must host courses from diverse sources, evaluate participant progress, appraise the quality of offerings and make alterations in courses. Government agencies must carefully evaluate their present and future needs and the LMSs available to them to achieve such results. Its implementation is the most important IT projects any organization will undertake because the system has he potential to touch virtually everyone in the organization.
