The article talks about the job requirements of rapidly growing, high-wage business fields in the U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao has pointed out that almost 90 percent of new jobs in high-wage fields will require workers who have at least some training beyond high school. She shares that some states in the country are testing programs that would provide universal funding for at least two years of post-secondary education. A coalition that advocates for improving the skills of the American workforce, called Workforce Alliance, has been launching an awareness campaign, Skills 2 Compete, to encourage and highlight state policies that help workers get the post-secondary training they need.
