The science of learning (or learning sciences) is an interdisciplinary field of study that examines how people learn and how the learning and development field can improve learning and instruction. The reason for using the science of learning as learning professionals is clear. Just like any professional in any field, it is our job to use the science in our field to improve outcomes. This compilation of Patti Shank's work for ATD's Science of Learning Community looks at foundational science of learning topics and examines research that shows how we can improve our learning solutions.
