NIST Awards Cybersecurity Grants

The shortage of cybersecurity professionals in the federal government is well documented—and the government is trying to change that. In September, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which is part of the U.S. Commerce Department, awarded five grants totaling almost $1 million to projects "that are taking a community approach to addressing the nation's shortage of skilled cybersecurity employees," according to NIST's website.
