Digital Transformations Start With Training

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

“Digital transformation” is a buzzword that’s often tossed around conference rooms, but few organizations say they are reaching their goals when it comes to achieving these technological changes. One of the many reasons for this is because these types of changes don’t occur organically nor take place in a vacuum. To truly succeed in these transformations, key players need to act collaboratively with one another—not the least of which is the workforce itself. One of the most overlooked segments of the office ecosystem when discussing digital transformations is the workers themselves, both new hires and ongoing professionals. If an organization is failing to keep up with their employees’ training and development needs, they’re going to fail in their digital transformation efforts. These strategies must be appealing and they must be customized for each employee—if not personally, then at least by employee type. The goal is to make employees active learners in this process. Train employees on the tools and platforms they work with every day. Encourage them to think differently about their workflows and the changes around them.
