Employee Engagement Creates Concrete Results

Tuesday, December 18, 2018

While some might write it off as a buzzword, employee engagement really does help businesses compete in concrete, tangible ways. Engaged employees will have a more complete understanding of their organization's long-term goals and how they fit into the greater framework. They will be more personally invested in and committed to the company and its mission. They will have better relationships with their co-workers. They will make it a priority to learn new skills to remain relevant as their industries change. These are all important factors in ensuring a company remains competitive in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace. Additionally, high levels of engagement will translate into less turnover and reduced absenteeism—two major factors in driving up labor costs. Simply put, engaged employees don’t have the desire to find a new job or avoid going to the one they have. This type of loyalty is rare in the modern labor market, and it’s a loyalty that should be fostered and valued.

This is essential for organizations to value. Those who don't see two major things occur...loss of great employees who feel invisible and the presence of those surfing the web for a new job.
