Engage Employees Through Creativity and Support

Friday, September 2, 2016

Employee engagement is critically important to the success of a business. When employees are actively engaged at work, they will be more committed to putting forth their best efforts, focusing on the task at hand, and becoming more productive. According to numerous studies, fully engaged employees have higher morale rates and are less likely to leave for other employment opportunities. Generally speaking, engaged employees are better at customer service, which increases sales and profit margins. However, engagement rarely happens organically; instead, employers must make concerted efforts to boost levels of engagement in the ranks. One of the best ways to do this is to provide meaningful work for employees and demonstrate that there is room for growth within an organization. It is important that employees see that what they do on a day-to-day basis fits into the larger mission of the organization, and that they will be rewarded for a job well done. Additionally, it’s important that employers make it safe for employees to take risks and think creatively. Innovation doesn’t happen while employees are too scared of failure to go beyond the status quo.
