While the rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence in the business world will certainly be disruptive, it doesn’t mean the end of work life as we know it. According to a recent report from the World Economic Forum, AI is expected to create 58 million jobs over the next five years. What’s more, most workers view AI positively—they see it as a tool that will help make them more effective, not a technology that will make them obsolete. However, this doesn’t mean that adopting AI will be without it’s growing pains. According to an Oracle study, 71 percent of employees believe AI skills and knowledge will become increasingly important over the next three years; however, nearly the same number of workers feel their organization doesn’t provide any type of AI training programs. This gap needs to be addressed. The first step is conducting an AI audit. This will screen employees to understand their current competencies and knowledge in the AI space. The next step is to identify what needs you might have to fill, and to find training programs that will address those needs directly.
