Like many big companies, Adobe was planning on using more online training in the near future; however, the outbreak of coronavirus has considerably moved up their timeline. “We had been planning a big push to intensify training and coaching online next year,” says Danielle Clark, senior director of global talent development. “This has certainly accelerated that.” Now, all but a handful of Adobe’s 23,000 employees are working from home. However, that hasn’t slowed down their training efforts. Clark offers a piece of advice for those looking to do the same. Remember that less is more. Since tech tools are so readily available, there’s a desire to take everything currently offered to employees and shift it online. Instead, Clark says to cut that roughly in half. “Between your own in-house content and what’s out there on the Internet, there are tons of content available on—for instance, EQ,” she adds. “But what do you most want employees to know about a given topic and use in their jobs? What are the three essential takeaways?”
