Online Training Breaks Down Physical Barriers of Learning

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Training is the most important way to keep employees up-to-date and keep an overall workforce performing at the highest rates of efficiency. However, technology is changing the face of training; as more materials are offered online and on demand, training can be delivered in ways never thought possible. Traditional training courses are still important, but distance learning enabled through technological tools allows more individuals to benefit from training when and where they need it. It’s not surprising that the 2014 Further Education Learning and Technology Action Group report recommended all publicly funded courses should offer at least 10 percent of their materials online during the 2015-2016 academic year, but should increase it to 50 percent by 2017-2018. By offering online training, management won't have to deal with the headache of getting remote or nationwide employees together in one place. The logistics of such a proposition were always a nightmare, and the cost associated with this was astronomical. Not only can employees learn at their own pace from the comfort of their personal workspaces; this one-on-one interaction with the training material can often be less distracting.
