Sleep App Helps Promote Employee Well-Being

Thursday, July 27, 2017

Big Health, A UK digital health startup, recently raised $12 million to develop a sleep health app it will provide to employers looking to increase the sleep-based wellness and mental health of their employees. "This new investment allows us to push on towards our goal of helping millions back to good mental health, by growing the number of companies we work with and evolving our products to help address an ever-wider range of mental health issues,” said Big Health CEO and co-founder Peter Hames in a statement. “But we’ll only achieve this goal—and firmly establish a new 'digital medicine' industry—by remaining committed to evidence-based solutions that deliver real outcomes for users.” The company’s app, Sleepio, is used by employees at Comcast, LinkedIn, and the Boston Medical Center. It creates a personalized sleep profile for employees to optimize their rest, so they come to work fully energized and feeling productive.
