Training in the New Economy

Monday, February 9, 2015

As the recession begins to lift, many employers are breathing sighs of relief, but that doesn't mean it's time to relax just yet. When the global economy slipped, training budgets were slashed, and now organizations need to make up for lost time. Many industries now have a tremendous need for employees to develop new skills, but limited resources to get them there. This is why some experts think e-learning will grow in importance this year. Given their high levels of accessibility, huge degree of flexibility, and cost efficiency, e-learning programs offer employers what they need at a fraction of the traditional costs. Another benefit of e-learning programs is that they work with the growing proliferation of computers and mobile devices. Students have more control over their learning processes—where and how they will study—and as a result, often move faster and retain more information when compared with traditional instructor-led training.
