Wells Fargo Supports LGBT Leaders Through Training Programs

Monday, October 10, 2016

Wells Fargo is among a growing number of companies supporting employees from the LGBT community. The company is enhancing its LGBT Diverse Leaders Program by offering three classes, up from two in previous years, to encourage LGBT employees to improve their leadership skills and further their careers. Each class is made up of 36 participants and geared toward workers who have invested time with the company, but have room for growth. "It's a leadership development program with an LGBT lens," said Jennifer Brown, who heads the consulting firm that runs the LGBT Diverse Leaders Program. "Diverse talent is under-represented in our pipelines, and it becomes more and more egregious as people try to move up through the org chart and get those bigger assignments and hopefully to the executive level. We didn't build the system that we're trying to be successful in. We don't know the rules—both official and unofficial."
