Time to Take Our Own Advice: Q&A With Elaine Biech

Whether it’s coming up with new solutions to age-old challenges or conveying those experiences with conference or podcast audiences, Mark Sheppard embraces the opportunity to learn and share. Over the course of more than 30 years in the field, he has benefitted from being immersed in a rich milieu of working environments ranging from medical software through Indigenous governments and military aviation to automotive engineering. He is the owner and founder of 2Sphynx Innovations, an L&D consultancy serving the public and private sectors in Canada and the US. Sheppard holds certificates in adult training and development (University of Toronto) and human resources management (Seneca Polytechnic); a diploma in graphic communications (Canadore College); and a master’s degree in learning and technology (Royal Roads University).

Mark Magnacca, president and co-founder of Allego, has spent the last 15 years helping sales leaders shorten the sales cycle and distribute their best ideas faster. Over the last five years, Mark has been instrumental in coaching leading sales teams to deliver a consistent message in the marketplace by integrating mobile technology into their sales process. He has worked as a presentation coach with a wide range of financial service companies by delivering innovative, practice-development and business-building strategies. Mark is the author of So What? How To Communicate What Really Matters to Your Audience. His work has been featured in numerous media outlets including Fox TV, The New York Time,s and The Boston Globe. Prior to co-founding Allego, Mark founded Insight Development Group, Inc., a leading Sales and Presentation training firm specializing in the Financial Services industry. As a former financial advisor, Mark brings a unique perspective to the world of consultative selling. Mark is a graduate of Babson College and resides in the Boston area.

Mark Magnacca

Mark Magnussen is the training and development manager for The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He was awarded the CPLP in November 2015, completed his MBA in human resource development through Strayer University, and is a PHR holder through the Society for Human Resource Management. He served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, attaining the rank of sergeant major, and upon his retirement he worked in various industries until accepting his current role.  Mark is the Midlands GIG ATD Chapter president. He received the Midlands Chapter 2014 Best in Practice Award in Distance Learning and Blended Program and was the Darkness 2 Light 2013-2014 Facilitator of the Year for South Carolina.
