ABOUT ME

Manager for the Security Awareness department with CPS Energy’s newly formed Threat Intelligence & Security Awareness division.  Responsibilities include physical and cyber security awareness training, strategic security response, and threat data analytics to support the CPS Energy workforce.  Prior to this role, Chris served as Manager, Learning & Development.

Chris is a performance management professional passionate about bringing out the best in individuals and organizations.  Chris is a 20-year veteran of the Air Force where he spent most of his career as an intelligence analyst with the latter years as a leadership and management development training instructor.

After leaving the military, Chris held positions in Process Improvement/Total Quality Management (TQM) and Employee Development & Training across several industries; public energy/utilities, manufacturing, sales, healthcare, and management.  His work has encompassed strategic planning, business process improvement, performance management, workforce development, team-building and communication skills.

Chris has worked as an independent training consultant and adjunct instructor with San Antonio College for both their Supervisor Certification and Corporate Trainer Certification programs. He has also taught basic through advanced computer skills training through the Adult & Continuing Education department of the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District. 

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education with a dual major in Corporate Training and Business; and a minor emphasis in Math Studies. . He also has two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Instructional Technology and Communications Management respectively, from the Community College of the Air Force. 

 His professional affiliations include the North San Antonio Toastmasters, VP of PR; Alamo Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), Scholarship Committee Chair; Past-President of the San Antonio Association of Organizational Development (SAAOD); VP of Technology, and VP of Publications for the San Antonio Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD); and membership in the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA).  Chris has held membership with National Forum of Black Public Administrators and is an alumni of the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) program.  He has also served as a Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Program Board of Examiners.
