As an NFL player, Correll was unlucky to face an injury that kept him in the sidelines for some time. However, with hard work and prayer, he was able to bounce back fully fit and helped his team gather much-needed points. During this time, he was awarded the Ed Block Courage Award. This award is presented each year to people who overcome serious injuries, work in the community, and get back to playing on the football field.
