ABOUT ME

I am an Instructional designer with nearly 25 years of private and public sector Talent Development experience. I started in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program, where I was responsible for managing the training program for approximately 40 enlisted and 15 officers. While I was in the navy, I received my BS Ed. via Southern Illinois University's Off-Campus Program in Workforce Education and Development. After I left the navy, I received my MS Ed from SIU and my thesis discussed the effects of self-evaluation during training events. With my naval background, my 1st position outside of the navy was managing the training program for an ore refinery at the worlds 2nd largest Boron mine. There, I learned the nuances of eLearning development and implementation. After attempting to freelance for a couple years and working as a tech writer for a couple years, I earned a position working at a Dept. of Energy/National Nuclear Security Agency site outside of Las Vegas.

As a contractor to the DOE/NNSA, I have been a Training Program Developer and Coordinator and Training Compliance Officer. As the Training Program Developer, I held the Engineering Group double in size and increase the overall knowledge and skills level. As the Compliance Officer, I was responsible for ensuring the Training Department fulfilled it contractual requirements with the DOE/NNSA. I am now a senior Instructional Designer creating ILT/VILT, eLearning, and OJTs.

Finally, I received my CPLP/CPTD in 2019.
