Kevin Macvittie
ABOUT ME

Kevin MacVittie has been with Colorado DOT since March of 2017, starting as a Curriculum Developer for the Maintenance Training Academy before being promoted to Technical Training Programs Manager in 2022 - overseeing all technical training programs for the Division of Maintenance and Operations, including but not limited to: Supervisor Leadership & Communication, Traffic Control & Workzone Curriculum, Guardrail Inspection & Maintenance, Snow Plow Operator Training, CDL ELDT Program, and CDOT 101 New Employee Training, to name a few.

Kevin previously worked in the public education sector as Regional Director for an online high school serving at-risk teens, and as an Adjunct Professor at Western State Colorado University teaching technology implementation to public school educators.  Kevin currently serves AASHTO’s Technical Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3) as co-chair of the Curriculum Development and Competency Matrices Committee which works to develop new coursework as well as to ensure that each Competency Matrix is aligned to TC3’s current programming.  Kevin has been involved in the planning, design, and implementation of employee training and development programs for the past 20 years.  He possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Temple University, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University, specializing in Human Resource Management and Online Education.

When Kevin is not working at his day job, you can find him in his garage working on his classic cars, racing mountain bikes, or catching fish on one of the West’s many lakes and streams!
